In an on-the-go world…we have to stay committed to taking the best care of ourselves. I always quote my mom and so yeah, I’m quoting her again. “It’s the little things… it’s not the big things”. I’ve come to realize that matters in so many areas of life. Below are the daily habits or the “little things” that help me stay focused daily!
Taking a daily vitamin. I’m not sure why but I feel like I have way more energy when I take my vitamins or should I say way less energy when I don’t take my vitamins. In this age where our eating habits don’t put as many vitamins and nutrients into our bodies, is very important to consume them additionally. I take the gummy vitamins because pills are just… I can’t! You can find the ones I take HERE.
Having in-person conversations with family members or friends. Yes, it’s great to talk to people online through Instagram and Facebook but is something about actually putting down your phone and engaging with those who are around you. I make it my business to connect with the people who I am around on a daily basis and try to have a conversation with them. Which brings me to my next point.
Spend less time on your phone. I actually have my iPhone set up where all the apps shut off around 10 PM. Well, I sometimes override it..but it is very important that I just remind myself I should not be on my phone if I’m not working on a deadline or special project.
Go outside and take a walk. I have cleared my mind so many times by simply going outside and taking a 15-minute stroll. I’m not sure what it is about being outdoors but sweat relieves my stress.
I got a chance to talk with holistic health & fitness enthusiast, Yovanna Madhere of Sagisoul Fit, and she shared tips on how small changes in your nutrition could actually make an overall impact. She also has an e-book that helps you make small steps toward progress.

KR: What encouragement would you give to someone who wants to start changing their lifestyle today?
I encourage them to start with the step they can manage best first. Creating a lifestyle change may be daunting or overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to happen all at once. Start with one thing a week if you need to ( I always recommend starting with drinking water…lol). I want you to know that you CAN do it, and that you are not alone- I will be here as your favorite Lifestyle Coach & Trainer!
KR: Why did you decide to go on this fitness journey, what sparked it?
I have been a health & fitness enthusiast for over 15 years. My passion is to share my love for healthy living with my community and to motivate people to become the highest and best versions of themselves. Having overcome deep personal challenges (abuse, drug addiction) and having broken the chain of a family legacy of disease, I recognizes the power of positivity and goal setting in everyday life.
KR: What is a lifestyle changes you have made recently?
The first and most important lifestyle change that I’ve made recently is: I have learned to become more confident! That is a HUGE one!! Confidence colors everything! I also regularly practice other aspects of my e-book such as drinking lots of water, eating balanced meals, and engaging in weight lifting to help tone & strengthen my body and mind!
