This is the second installment of my blog and video series Traveling Begins at Home where I showcase top Georgia cities here in my home state that are perfect for a road trip!
Thank you to Lagrange,Ga tourism board for hosting this trip, all opinions remain my own.
How To Get to LaGrange, Ga + Where to Stay
Lagrange, Ga is about 65 miles from Atlanta and a 4.5 hour drive from Coastal Georgia..which is my region. What I love about this town is the extreme hospitality not just from the tourism board but from locals who I met on this trip.
You should definitely checkout Courtyard Marriott as the best hotel option in the city. I must say that as a solo female traveler I felt extremely safe this entire trip.

Things to Do-Check Out Shopping, Arts & Live Entertainment in LaGrange,Ga

I started my trip on Juneteenth for the concert hosted at Sweetland Amphitheater as they held a show headlined by Tyrese, Cee-Lo, and Kameron Corvet–some of my FAVORITE artist whose music I have all purchased. The show was outdoors but very comfortable and parking was a breeze. Check out the line up and see what is coming up next.
Additionally, you can stop by the LaGrange Art Museum or Legacy Museum on the Main the see the latest exhibit if you love art or check out Pretty Good Books if you are a reader like me.
There are so many boutiques and cute places to get gifts for yourself or family. You have to check out Marketplace at Lafayette Square to find some amazing antique finds.
Other Things to Do In LaGrange- Tours & History

The second day I had the opportunity to visit the Biblical History Center in LaGrange, Ga (130 Gordon Commercial Dr.) for an hour tour. They had so many replica items and it felt like a step back in time.
You also have to stop by the Wild Animal Safari and feed the animals. This was a short drive from the city and a must if you have children.
I also got a chance to visit Hills & Dales Estate (Visitor Center is at 1916 Hills and Dales
Drive) for an hour tour and chance to view the garden. I learned SO much about the history of the Callaway family and how they have impacted the development of the city.

Best Places to Eat in LaGrange, Ga

When you leave feel free to stroll and crab a quick lunch from Charlie’s Joseph’s which has very high ratings or Gus’s Grill which has breakfast and lunch. Although I did not stop by Charlies-it looks incredible and I will return.
But as for Gus’s I had a chance to stop by for breakfast and got that biscuit. It was a top three best biscuit I’ve ever had in my LIFE!!! So so good and unlike anything I’ve had before. Get it with the smoked sausage & egg.
The first day I stopped in I had Venucci and it was TOP italian food which is a favorite for me. The sangria Amanda made for me was incredible. On the second day I had Taste of Lemon (204 Morgan Street) for lunch and let me tell you-those smothered pork chops are EVERYTHING. I also got some peach cobbler to go and ate it back at the hotel for a late snack.

The final day that I woke up in the city, I decided to take a scroll on the Thread Walking Trail after I grabbed me a wildberry smoothie from Local Groundz (407 N. Greenwood St.).
